Mental health agencies calling attention to the uptick in suicides among teens
COLORADO SPRINGS — The pandemic has taken a toll on our mental health, and young people are no different. According to the CDC, suicide is one of the leading causes of death among teens, and now local officials are calling attention to a very troubling trend.

2021 CASTA Award Winners
The 36th annual CASTA Awards Dinner took place on September 16th at the CASTA Fall Conference & EXPO in Grand Junction, CO.
Denver, CO – The Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA) has announced the recipients of its 2021 Annual Awards. CASTA represents 50 transit agencies around the state, ranging from RTD in Denver to Dolores County Senior Services in Dolores County Colorado. The CASTA Awards Program recognized the contributions of individuals and agencies in Colorado with outstanding programs or projects or who have made notable contributions to transit.
Human Services Agency of the Year
Envida was presented the award for Human Services Agency of the Year which recognized best practices implemented by an organization that provided transportation services for the elderly and those with disabilities. Envida, as an entrepreneurial non profit organization, is seen as a solution-oriented agency for transit problems in a three-county area of El Paso, Teller, and Park. This year, Envida has delivered more than 400 trips to the homeless isolation center, coordinated 579 trips for vaccinations, and completed 300 rides specifically to help people access behavioral health and substance use treatment. Thanks to Envida for their attitude encapsulated in the quote: “Give it to Envida. They solve problems.”

FTA awards envida $250K for innovative transportation
The Federal Transportation Authority (FTA) announced the 2018 recipients of its Innovative Coordinated Access and Mobility (ICAM) grant program. envida of Colorado Springs is proud to receive nearly $250,000 for its project Mobility as a Service (MaaS): Changing and Saving Lives.

CO: Calhan connection bringing public transportation to rural El Paso County
A local nonprofit is offering Calhan residents a service they say they’ve never had: reliable public transportation. Calhan Connection will allow eastern El Paso County residents to take a bus to and from the Colorado Springs area for $5 each way.
